The Cap Classique and Champagne Festival is being held in the Franschhoek Wine Valley for the sixth year, allowing the public the opportunity to sample both Champagne and Cap Classique wines. This festival celebrates the ‘Magic of Bubbles’ and combines the beauty of both South African and French cultures.

Franschhoek’s award-winning restaurants form a perfect accompaniment to the festival, and many of the restaurants will have special menus prepared to compliment the Champagne. Participating restaurants include Bread & Wine, The SalmonBar and Mont Rochelle. Participating wineries include Avondale, JC Le Roux, Simonsig and many more. Champagne producers include Piper Heidsieck and Billecart-Salmon Champagne.

There are world-class shops nearby and a huge variety of accommodation establishments nearby.

The theme for this year’s event is black and white with emphasis on spots and stripes. A prize will be given to the best dressed couple of the day.

Tickets cost R200.00 per person which includes a complimentary tasting glass and tasting coupons. Children under 18 years enter for free.

Festival times:

12h00 to 17h00 on 30 November and 1 December 2013.
