The Pietermaritzburg Royal Show is considered the biggest event in KwaZulu Natal attracting over 250 000 visitors from far and wide. The show, held at the Royal Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg, has 13 different exhibition halls and hundreds of trade stalls. Various competitions for livestock and agricultural produce occur through the show.
The aim of the Royal is to introduce and educate people, who would otherwise never interact with the country, to the beauty of the area and its produce. The show is a great outing for the family with concerts, fireworks displays, show jumping and vintage tractor displays.
