Kagga Kamma is located in an untouched wilderness in the Cederberg Mountains, three and a half hours drive from Cape Town. The Reserve is renowned for its scenic beauty, dramatic rock formations and unique accommodation options. With a rich and fascinating cultural heritage, ancient rock art sites, amazing indigenous fauna and flora, Kagga Kamma is the ideal destination for nature- and culture-loving holidaymakers.
This colour-rich destination is a true natural wonder. It offers a remarkable experience that combines some of the area’s best features. From mountain ranges unfolding to captivating ancient history - the San culture and the footprint of oneness with nature they left behind in their stunning rock paintings found all over the Reserve. From the strange rock formations that tease the eye with hints of familiar shapes to the endless Karoo-like wilderness that supports a diverse and fascinating array of fauna and flora.
The quietness is almost audible; something so pure and deep in the wide-angle space. The remoteness and the absence of light pollution, ensures clear night skies, which makes Kagga Kamma the perfect destination to view the billions of stars that seem almost so close you can touch them.
The rich cultural history and outstandingly beautiful landscape inspired the design of the comfortable and unique Kagga Kamma Accommodation. Sleep under the starry African night sky in an Open Air Room overlooking the Cederberg; or in a ‘Cave’ Suite skillfully constructed to integrate with the natural sandstone formations. Alternatively, choose a spacious Hut Suite, resembling the traditional dwellings inhabited by the clans of the area many years ago. The swimming pool, intimate bar area, spa and restaurant allow for ample opportunities to relax, unwind and savour the facilities that the lodge offers. Nature Drives, Rock Art Tours, Star Gazing, Hiking and Quad Bike Safaris are just some of the doorways to a world of new experiences.
Kagga Kamma is truly a nature lover’s paradise.

Sleeping in a Cave - Kagga Kamma
On this weekend away Ashleigh stayed at Kagga Kamma Private Nature Reserve and had a wonderful time staying in their luxurious cave room, enjoying the natural beauty of the Cederberg, and going on game drives through the reserve. Make sure to book a weekend away at Kagga Kamma.

"I took my girlfriend away for a short weekend break to celebrate her birthday. We loved our accommodations: functional, cozy, and in a setting rarely found. Made from artificial rock to blend in with the natural landscape and rock formations.
The service during our stay was first class; all the staff were friendly and went out of their way to make sure that our needs were attended to. The food was great and we especially liked the fact there were no long lines and preparation time was minimal.
Unfortunately, we felt that there were two couples with very unruly children who spoilt our 'getaway' experience. We were looking forward to a quiet, peaceful break away from the noise and stresses of the city. These parents did very little to rein their children in and so for this reason we felt we could not give our experience the full five stars. "
"Fantastic Get away"

"Kagga Kamma is an exceptionally well run establishment - the staff were fantastic and took care of our every needs. The views on the guided tours were exceptional and well worth it - we will definitely recommend it and cannot wait to go back... Thank you all so much!!!"
